Gardening Guidance
Every gardener needs a little help sometimes. Here are some reasources that are essential to lending a hand in making you the great gardener that you are.
PLANT RESOURCES. Our plant selection varies throughout the season, but that doesn’t mean you can’t find out information on a plant you purchased from Cobblestone Gardens & Market. These resouces can also give you information on plants for wet sites, deer resistant plants, how to make a zen garden, and so much more. Many of these resources are our plant vendors, some are just great gardening resources.
BAILEY NURSERIES. Bailey’s is a local supplier of annuals, veggies, perennials, shrubs, trees, tropicals and vines. Their website has a great plant libary with awesome photos, detailed plant information and tips for what plants grow best where. http://www.baileynurseries.com/
GREENLEAF NURSERY. Greenleaf is another supplier of plant material. They furnish Cobblestone with a variety of plants including the NEW and EXCITING Bloomerang lilac and Pink Lemonade Blueberry. http://www.greenleafnursery.com/
MONROVIA. Monrovia is a household name thanks to several shows on HGTV. Their website has awesome plant information but it also gives gardeners great ideas on creating gardens that fit your personality. http://www.monrovia.com/
PROVEN WINNERS. So you know what colors your like, but you aren’t sure what annuals work well for shade, or sun. Proven winners gives you a ton of information on annuals and even how to put together a great combination for a hanging basket, urn, or annual bed. http://www.provenwinners.com/
WHAT IS GOING ON WITH MY PLANT? Sometimes something infests our garden or plants. If you aren’t sure where to turn (besides Cobblestone Gardens & Market of course) there are a few great places that can help you answer your burning questions. http://www.gardenminnesota.com/ and http://www.extension.umn.edu/ are two of my favorites for digging deeper into questions like, when should I plant potatoes, or how bad is emerald ash borer? Another great website is the Northern Gardener website which is published by the Minnesota State Horticultural Society. Check it out http://www.northerngardener.org/
